Research Trainee in Chemistry

I am Principal Investigator at ITQB- Universidade Nova de Lisboa, working in bioorganometallic and inorganic chemistry. I am currently looking for students interested in developing a research project as part of their Erasmus exchange programme. The research project will be devoted to the development of bio-derived N-Heterocyclic Carbenes and their applications as anti-cancer agents. Therefore, the project would fit students in the areas of Chemistry and Biochemistry.  We will modify nucleobases to build novel metallodrugs with improved selectivity. The main body of work involves synthetic chemistry and transition metal chemistry. The duration of the project and the start date can be discussed with the student to better fit the timelines of the Erasmus programme. Please see description bellow.
