English Teacher Internship in Spain
Our partner is a language course which, for nearly 30 years, has been dedicated to enhancing the quality of our educational projects. Positioned among the foremost institutions in the field of special education and language training, they actively collaborate with various NGOs striving to improve different facets of today's society.
We are looking for fun, enthusiastic and motivated candidates who have the drive to become a great teacher, and to work alongside our experienced teachers. Working with children, you'll be based at our bright, spacious and modern academy in Jerez, in the province of Cadiz.
This position is for a 9 month internship, during which you will gain insight into how to be a great EFL teacher, working with children, teens and young adults. You will receive initial training for the first 10 days, then regular sessions throughout the school year.
DUTIES
● Teach English lessons with children from 2-18 years of age.
● Help with course and class planning outside the classroom
● Create and produce classroom resources such as flashcards, posters etc
● Contribute to the overall assessment of the students by writing reports and giving feedback to supervisors on students' progress.
● Observe classes to help gain knowledge of classroom management and discipline.
● Learn how to impart the content of the class in a fun and enthusiastic way which keeps the children/students engaged and participating.
● Improve your knowledge of the grammar of the English language and how to best help students to reach their goals in speaking, listening, writing and reading.
● Prepare older students for official Cambridge English exams, and receive instruction on the techniques for these exams and the knowledge needed to do well.
● You’ll learn about Jolly Phonics, and how to effectively use the method in your classroom.
● Learn about games, activities and pair work exercises to keep your class having fun and learning at the same time.
● You will be monitored and observed by our heads of studies, who will give you help and support throughout the duration of the internship.
REQUIREMENTS
- University student in a relevant department,
-Advanced (C1) or fluent level in English,
-Basic experience of working or dealing with children.
-Up-to-date with and a strong user of Educational Technologies
-Being able to use PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel
POSITION DETAILS
- Duration: 9 Months
- Place: Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz /Spain
- Start Date: September 2nd 2024, until mid June 2025
- Working Type: 30 hours per week/15.30-20.00 from Monday to Friday
- Salary: 500 euros per month + Erasmus grant
