Communications internship at EFEE 

The European Federation of Education Employers is looking for a full-time intern to assist with the media and communications of the organisation. This involves a variety of tasks ranging from content creation and social media management to website design and maintenance.  

Tasks and responsibilities  

• Manage social media: LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. Create posts, manage engagement, help design social media campaigns... 

• Create content for social media and website: Take photographies and videos of EFEE events, produce visual graphics for dissemination, edit videos, etc. 

• Manage website: Continuously update with new content and take care of general website maintenance. 

This is not a fixed list, and tasks may vary depending on the abilities and interests of the intern.  

Technical details 

• The internship will take place in Brussels, Belgium, for a period of 6 months to 1 year starting no later than September 1st 2024. 

• We have a 38-hour week (7,5 hours per day, 5 days per week). 

• Work is hybrid alternating between home-office and at least three office days per week, in addition to the meetings and events that might take place each week. 

• Project events often take place in different countries. The Communications intern is expected to be available to travel to these events. 

• The organisation covers travel expenses in the function of work activities and other expenses incurred as part of work activities. 

• The intern needs to be eligible for a funding grant such as Erasmus +, mobility grant from a Chamber of Commerce, Eurodyssey, aid from the Belgian Government such as Actiris International Erasmus Pro, etc. 

Qualifications required 

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, international relations, political science...). 

• Analytical skills to understand European projects and EU policy frameworks. 

• Proficiency in English – orally and in writing (minimum C1 level – no need for official accreditation) 

• Creativity, organisation skills, out-of-the-box thinking, proactivity. 

• Content creation:  

• Proficiency in multimedia creation: including photography, video, editing, graphic design, etc. 

• Proficiency in social media management: all social media platforms.  

• Computer skills:  

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365, especially Microsoft Teams. 

• Knowledge of website design and management.

Tasks and responsibilities  

• Organise meetings with project partners: prepare agenda, contact participants, draft minutes/reports, etc. 

• Assist with the logistics of the organisation of project events (webinars and in-person conferences): draft agenda, invite speakers, invite participants, arrange venue, travel and accommodation, etc. 

• Assist with the reporting of projects: keep track of deliverables, produce brief reports, report on project expenses. 

• Communication: 

• Continuous communication with project partners through MS Teams, emails and online meetings. 

  Continuous dissemination of project outputs. 

This is not an exhaustive list, and it may vary depending on circumstances. Additional tasks are negotiated during the internship, depending on the motivation and abilities of the intern. 

The Project Management intern will remain under the supervision of an EFEE Project Manager.

Internship’s set up:

As part of a multi-talents team, you will work directly under our CTO and Tech Leads.
You will be participating in the elaboration and execution of the company’s technological projects.
 

Intern:

• Capable of detailed and analytical thinking

• Ready to take responsibilities and have an impact on companies’ projects

Requirements*:

• Your field of studies (Bachelors or Masters) is related to in computer science or a related technical field,

• Your english level is B2 or more,

• You are able to work in a distributed team

• You have knowledge of dart programming language

• You have some experience with flutter framework

• You have some experience with design patterns

• You have understanding of REST architecture

• You have some experience with swagger

• You have understanding of SCRUM (nice to have)

• You have knowledge of Git (nice to have)
   

*What is really important is your will and ability to expand your skills during the internship and contribute actively to the company.

Responsibilities:

• You will implement various application scenarios

• You will create custom UI widgets

• You will create API client for RESTFul services

• You will implement automated tests for code created

• Administrative Assistant: As an Administrative Assistant intern, you will be responsible for various administrative duties of our departments (office operations, handling general projects, etc.) 

• Backend Developer: As a Back-End Developer intern, you will define, implement, and manage both, internal and projects-facing systems.

• Copywriter: As a Copywriter intern, you will be responsible for creating several forms of written media, text and documents for our organization and projects.

• Junior Digital Marketing Manager: As a Digital Marketing intern, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of our digital marketing strategy (developing and implementing innovative digital marketing and sales plans, etc.) 

• Junior HR Manager: As a Human Resources intern, you will be responsible for the comprehensive recruitment process of volunteers and other interns.

• Innovation Manager: As an Innovation Manager intern, you will play a pivotal role in driving creative ideation, fostering a culture of innovation, and managing projects to bring cutting-edge solutions to life.

• Innovation Researcher: As an Innovation Researcher intern, you will research emerging trends and market dynamics to drive innovation in the startup ecosystem.

• Journalist: As a Journalist intern, you will be responsible for presenting the text and video contents about startups’ news around the world on a regular basis.

• Junior Operations Manager: As a Junior Operations Manager intern, you will be responsible for bringing our vision into reality. 

• Junior Proposal Writer (EU Funding Instruments): As a Junior Proposal Writer focusing on EU Funding Instruments, you will assist in crafting proposals and grant applications to secure funding for innovative projects and initiatives.

• PR Manager: As a PR Manager intern, you will be responsible for building relationships with the media, while constantly looking for ways to boost and improve the organization’s image.

• Sales Development Representative (SDR): As a Sales Development Representative intern, you will gain hands-on experience in prospecting, lead generation, and building crucial connections to support the growth of our sales pipeline.

• Social Media Manager: As a Social Media Manager intern, you will be responsible for managing our social media accounts, for creating original text and video content, managing posts, and responding to our followers.​

• Software Developer: As a Front-End Software Developer intern, you will be responsible for developing new user-facing features.

• Video Producer: As a Video Producer intern, you will be responsible for creating and assembling together all our video content.

• Web Designer: As a Web Designer intern, you will be responsible for all aspects of creating and designing our websites.
