The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Bonn is looking for an intern to support the International Centre’s communications and promotion activities, as well as the management and development of the UNEVOC Network, specifically the Latin America and the Caribbean cluster.

The UNEVOC Network , coordinated by the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre, is made up of UNEVOC Centres from around the world. The Network is instrumental in the production and dissemination of research, case studies, databases, publications, and enables the UNESCO-UNEVOC to perform its function as a clearinghouse. Through the Network, UNEVOC Centres share knowledge and experiences related to all aspects of TVET, exchange country experiences and discuss issues of common relevance in meetings organized by themselves, by the UNESCO-UNEVOC or virtually through the UNEVOC Network Portal or the UNEVOC TVeT Forum.

This role is a unique opportunity for ambitious interns to collaborate with a network of international academics from Cyprus University of Technology, University of Glasgow, and University of Cambridge among others, in research projects that fall within the sphere of Competitive Strategy. The involvement of the intern will be extended to an array of different research projects contingent on the project’s stage of development. The research projects entail topics in firms’ Corporate Social Responsibility, Strategic Diversification, International strategy, among others. Working alongside with his/her mentor, the intern will be involved in various aspects of scientific research, such as reviewing the relevant literature, discussing with the team potential contributions to existing knowledge, collecting and analyzing data with advanced statistical tools. This is a pivotal role within our research team. Moreover, the intern may be involved in various administrative tasks, such as assisting in developing and revising various official documents, finding and applying under European funded programs, and participating in a planned survey of the School’s alumni profile. 

Participating on organisational activities of an international conference in September 2016,  research projects (English), cooperation on international research and administrative support of teaching activities in English (Business Administration, HR management, European Integration), preparing of reports, research and data collection, data analysis, statistical software, searching for international information sources, screening of European legislation, possibility to join selected courses in English (optional).

This is a rare research opportunity to participate in a world-class cutting-edge research at Queen's University Belfast or Ulster University. This program is part of a huge nanotechnology network and scientific collaborations across Europe and North America. It is not a simple training, and participants are expected to publish 1-2 research articles in leading scholarly journals at the end of the program.

This program is specifically designed for PhD students. If the topic of your PhD project is closed to the program research topics, you conduct a part of your PhD research under this program (you have full rights to use the research conducted here as a part of your PhD dissertation).

Requirements:

• Fluency in English to communicate with the team.
• Experience in experimental research.
• You should be a PhD student in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, physics, or a closely related field.

NOTE: This program is open to all. However, as this is an unpaid internship, you are responsible to cover your cost of living. Thus, it is more practical if you are eligible for Erasmus+ Traineeships or other funding schemes.

Cece provides internships of Assistant English conversation in private education centers in the region of Galicia. The schools are specialized in areas such as catering, communication, sports, attention to diversity, attention to special needs

These internships are addressed to young university students or teachers from English spoken countries,  interested in learn or improve Spanish Languge.

At least 6 months are required.

Aims

The internship project will help in development, implementation and evaluation of Artificial Neural Networks in System-on-Chip applications. During the project the candidate will get practical experience in neural network design, hardware acceleration and machine learning applications.

Tasks

The candidate will be responsible for testing, evaluation and modification of artificial neural networks intended for System-on-Chip implementation and applied for practical tasks.

The Team

This project will be conducted by a team of GPDS laboratory at the University of Valencia.

GPDS research group is active in fields of neural network applications and hardware acceleration.

Candidate profile

• To have a MSc degree or be in the final year of Computer Science, Electronics, Physics or Applied Math MSc program.
• This internship is intended for students applying to an Erasmus Internship program at the home University, from which a scholarship is granted.
• Knowledge of Artificial Neural Networks.
• Knowledge of data processing methods and algorithms.
• Knowledge of algorithm complexity theory and computer architecture.
• Solid Matlab/Octave skills or similar CAS.
• Solid skills in Python, C, C++, Java or other popular PL.
• Knowledge of FPGA and HDL languages will be a big plus, but not necessary.
• Enthusiastic, creative and willing to learn.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Systematic approach.
