Your Profile

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Engineering
• Specialization in Plastic processing technologies would be an asset
• Good problem solving and analytical skills
• Team worker and open mind approach to a variety of cultures within Toyota.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of CAD software (Catia) would be an asset
• Fluent in English

Team/division description
The Toyota’s European Production Engineering Division is responsible for the production preparation of new vehicles in Europe.
 
Your project
You will be responsible to:
o Benchmark material & production technologies to eliminate conventional paint process for metallic color (in mold color, in mold coating, etc.)
o Study material technical specifications,
o Compare material specifications with Toyota requirements and make cost feasibility for different part applications,
o Select suitable material for different part applications and build agreement with Toyota Design, Material Engineering and Purchasing teams,
o Make material and production process validation (if technology already in the market) or development (if technology is not in the market yet) plan and agree with development partners (material supplier, equipment supplier) and Toyota internal related divisions,

Starting date: 1st April 2010
Duration: 6 months
Confidentiality: Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.
It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
