Team/division description
Technician team in Material Engineering Division is responsible for the evaluation and analysis of materials used  in automobile, i.e. metal, corrosion protection technology, organic material, fabric, paint and so on.
Our function is to qualify performance and the durability of European materials after various tests. These tests simulate the lifetime of the vehicle in all environmental condition that  the materials will be exposed to, i.e. stress/strain, impact, corrosion, temperature cycle, humidity and so on.

Your project
For this project, we focus on 2 items in the analysis of metal parts.
 Metal material properties and corrosion properties
Your task will be:
1) For metal properties: To optimise and set-up sample preparation methods for optical investigations (embedding – grinding – polishing). You will prepare manuals and work instructions for the sample preparation methods.
2) For corrosion properties: To organise the follow-up of anti-corrosion equipment and manage the parameter control for the equipment. You will prepare follow-up sheets and test procedures.

Bachelor or master student in chemistry, materials or automotive
Flexible team player in a multicultural environment
Open personality able to work in an independent way, hands-on mentality
Analytical mind
Fluent in English
Good computing skills in Excell and powerpoint

Place of employment: Toyota-Motor-Europe – R&D technical center Zaventem (Belgium).
Starting date: CY 2020
Duration: 3 months

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
