Team/division description
Vehicle Performance Engineering – Model Based Development
The VPE-MBD team within R&D has the role of providing simulation models and virtual evaluation tools to the specific performance teams (handling, ride comfort, drivability, brake control), as well as defining more advanced performance indicators to support vehicle project development target setting. Most of the experiments are conducted on Driving simulator managed by the same team.

Your project
VIRTUAL EVALUATION CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT IN SIMULATOR
The mission of the work will be to improve the understanding of the driver-vehicle interaction for continuous or intermittent steering control.
Perform the necessary DoE at Driving Simulator in order to:
• Provide additional performance assessment when comparing different tyre variations for a wide range of manoeuvres
• Provide performance assessment capability robustness for different simulation setups e.g. tyre and damper models of different complexity, several grades of haptic vibration etc.

Your profile
• Student in final year study of Master degree of engineering, with focus on vehicle dynamics & control systems.
• Proficient in Matlab/Python scripting and Simulink modelling.
• Strong data mining and deep dive analysis skills.
• Experience with control systems and preferably driving simulators
• Sound knowledge of vehicle dynamics simulation packages (CarMaker/Dymola/Simpack).
• Fluent in English.

Duration: 6 months
