TOYOTA MOTOR EUROPE (TME) Head Office and R&D center are based near Brussels in Belgium. Division information:
As part of TME R&D organization, the Powertrain Division is responsible for local development of powertrains for vehicles built in one of the TME production plants, and for planning and research of new European technologies. Latest focus points include electrification, big data and connectivity. The  Model  Based  Design  team  is  responsible  for  the  development  of  the  powertrain  system through simulation in order to improve it’s performance such as real life energy consumption.

Your project:
Increased use of hybrid vehicles brings new challenges in terms of energy management, since these have 2 energy sources (electricity & fuel) as well as thermal management requirements. Stringent regulations require efficient powertrains in every operation condition, incl customer real driving conditions). The aim is to develop methodologies that asses the vehicle’s energy consumption in a virtual environment representing the actual market condition and customer usage.
-Post process and investigate actual customer data retrieved from the market.
-Compare real life customer data with virtual (simulated) data, draw conclusions for improvements.
-Propose and implement improvements to the virtual platform (model, route, algorithm etc.).

Your profile:
• University student with at least 2 yrs of study already completed.
• You have a European EEA citizenship. (not requiring a visum to work in Belgium)
• You must be a student for the entire duration of the internship
• Open personality and able to work independently in a multi-cultural business environment
• Fluent in English  (reading, writing, speaking)
• Able to summarize and explain complex technical information in a clear and visual way

You have a Toyota DNA, this means you:
