Team/division description
Within the R&D Group, the Technology Strategy Planning Division (TSP) has the mission to pick up key future technologies and to get them included in the internal  agenda.
To support the moving towards becoming a Mobility Company, competencies in handling Big Data are now a key asset and a transversal team lead by TSP has been setup.

Your project
As intern you will be supporting the Big Data team and you will:
• Lead Big data related projects, bridging R&D engineers requirements (analytics/interface) with IT side (Data process/platform functionalities, etc).
• Help analyse the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
• Perform data analysis, assist the resolution of data issues, ensure production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders.
• Assist in exploring state of the art trends in technology to develop a strategy for a long term data platform architecture.
• Contribute to data engineering wiki, and document work.
• Collaborate with the analytics and business teams to improve data models by increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making.
• Lead some machine learning model development in the field of Autonomous and electrified vehicles

Your profile
• Student in last year of Master study (can be PhD) in data science, automotive or computer engineering
• Excellent proficiency in machine learning techniques and algorithms (ML model development lifecycle)
• ML Scripting languages: Python, MatLab 
• Experienced with JupyterHub and Git
• Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL
• Good knowledge of and interest in automotive, software, Big Data
• Knowledge in technology, connectivity, digital economy
• Fluent in English  (reading; writing; speaking) and flexible team player
• Seeking facts before making recommendations or decisions, having strong planning and organization skills
• Communicating in a clear and timely manner

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium).
