The Host Company

The host company is looking for a motivated student to work on the marketing communications activities for two business divisions.

Business division one, specialises in the design and manufacture of monitors and analysers for industrial infrared non-contact temperature measurement, combustion efficiency and environmental pollutant emissions. The host company has supported the global industrial community for over 70 years with innovative and reliable products and solutions.

Business division two, is a world leader in automated online surface inspection solutions with a broad product portfolio optimized for web and surface inspection and monitoring and process surveillance applications.

Both business divisions are part of a large American organisation.

The Placement

The host company is looking for a student to assist the individual business units with their international marketing communications activities over a number of industrial market sectors for a period of 6 months starting August 2017. The placement is open to all nationalities. The student will focus on both business division one and business division two.

Working for the Global Marketing Communications Manager who manages both business divisions, the main tasks during the placement will be to support the delivery of the global marketing communications activities and to assist in the generation and tracking of enquiries and leads.

Key tasks will include supporting the:

  • Input, qualification, allocation and tracking in CRM of marketing-generated enquiries/leads.
  • Development of website content (updates, events, news,...) and optimisation.
  • Organisation of company's attendance at international exhibitions and internal events.
  • Creation and distribution of email communications.
  • Maintenance of online listings and digital advertising.
  • Development of social media channels.

Additional Information

To apply for an ISPO internship in the UK you must hold a valid EU, EEA or Swiss passport. Applicants should be currently enrolled within an educational establishment (university/college) or have achieved postgraduate status. Students participating in an ISPO internship should have an excellent level of spoken and written English, as you will often be expected to act as an intermediary between the host company and the student’s native country. The host companies who take part in ISPO will not pay a salary, hence all students applying to ISPO should enquire about Erasmus+ funding through their Universities. (To support placements abroad). (Consult your internship coordinator for information about Erasmus+ grants, Governmental or any other kind of funding available to you). Please note that without funding you will not be able to take part in an unpaid internship regardless of personal financial circumstances, due to current UK legislation. The host company will pay accommodation costs for the duration of your placement (subjected to a maximum of £370 per month). Basic accommodation costs usually covers rent and utility bills. Services such as telephone and Internet are the student's own responsibility. It is the ISPO student's own responsibility to make travel arrangements and to cover the cost of travelling to and from the UK. Students are also strongly advised to get their own travel insurance to cover their personal belongings whilst on placement in the UK Applicants will ideally be available for a minimum of 5 to 6 months. ISPO does consider applications for shorter term placements, however most host companies and accommodation providers are looking for at least 5 to 6 months commitment. Students must be aged 18 years or over when the application is made.
