Description: 

Top Diving Gran Canaria is currently looking for a marine biologist to manage our Angel Shark program from mid-November until April.We work in collaboration with the University of Las Palmas and The Angel Shark Project to 1) collect data on Angel Sharks and 2) to provide support for research projects including the ACUSQUAT program.This is an internship position for a qualified diver (minimum PADI Advanced or Rescue diver). As part of the internship you will receive free PADI Divemaster training and unlimited diving (and free diving gear use).The position involves:

  • doing two to four dives each day five to six days a week in Gran Canaria´s largest marine reserve - The Franja Marina de Mogán.
  • collecting, recording, and managing data on Angel Sharks
  • ongoing communication with the University of Las Palmas and The Angel Shark Project
  • managing volunteer divers
  • community outreach and education programs (in Spanish)

We welcome anyone who has a marine biology degree to apply provided that they can legally work in the EU and have a good level of Spanish.
