The Bridge is part of the Tx Group, a growing private therapy organisation, providing a variety of health and education therapy services in the North West of England.  


The Bridge is a privately run outpatient service offering immediate specialist support to children and young adults who may be experiencing eating disorders or concerns surrounding eating behaviours. We identify/recognise that there are limited options available for families seeking access to outpatient services and existing facilities often have large waiting lists and strict inclusion criteria. Our team provide a supportive outpatient service for those who are seeking immediate treatment and adopt a multidisciplinary team approach to help achieve effective long-term results for children, young people, and their families in overcoming problems.  


The Bridge works with a multidisciplinary team including mental health nurses, dietitians, psychologists and medics. Our organisation functions in line with NICE guidelines and maintains a philosophy that is patient-centred and holistic.  We are committed to providing the highest standard of care to everyone we treat, helping children and parents make real progress in a professional, caring, safe and supportive environment. 


We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist intern to join our team, based in the centre of Manchester.  The role will initially involve assisting with patient’s enquiries and referrals, observing mental health nurses, psychologists, counsellors and dietitians and delivering workshops. Assisting with social media, participating in photoshoots and writing blog posts are also part of this role. We expect our intern to help assist with the service development and assist in organising group therapy.


This position is perfect for anybody who is interested in counselling, assisting dietitian, assisting psychologist, mental health nursing.


What does it take to be successful in this role?

To be successful within this role you would need to:

  • Effectively handle patients enquiries and referrals

  • Provide patients with a positive experience

  • Develop high-quality content for use on websites, social media and blogs

  • Help the service to develop


The Ideal Candidate:

The successful applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Good English - both written and verbal

  • Be emotional resilient

  • Be a current student or recent graduate in  a mental health/psychology degree


Our ideal candidate will be good with people experiencing mental health challenges and be patient-centred. We are looking for someone empathetic, friendly, flexible and a hard worker. 


The person chosen will be studying towards or recently gained in a mental health/psychology degree, and have had experience working in working with people with mental health challenges.
