The European Youth Card Association (EYCA) is a non-profit organisation that represents 39 youth card organisations in 37 countries across Europe. All are committed to promoting youth mobility and active citizenship to more than 6 million cardholders. EYCA has one member organisation in every country/territory where it is represented; this member develops the youth card and provides young people access to discounts and benefits in the fields of mobility, accommodation, culture, services and products. EYCA member organisations are NGOs and private foundations as well as state and public institutions and social benefit enterprises.

Do you think it would be cool to spend a few months working with us?  So do we!

  • We’re committed to empowering Europe’s youth so we’ll make sure you have a dynamic and friendly learning environment to grow both professionally and personally;
  • We have a nice variety of member organisations across Europe, so you’ll get the real deal: working for a truly European platform that supports young people;
  • We connect with a great selection of actors: European institutions, the business sector and other NGOs. So get ready to sharpen your social skills and broaden your professional network;
  • We’re a small but effective team, always busy with a great variety of work. You’ll learn by doing, getting new skills to help you kick-start your career;
  • We’re going to have an autumn full of European events: seminars, workshops, internal meetings, programmes and getting a brand new look – plenty of opportunities for you to learn a lot about the complexity of an European NGO.
  • We’re serious about respecting diversity, we enjoy our lunches together as well as some good office banter. This way, even long days are fun.

Enough about us, here’s about you:

  • You’re a student or just finished your studies and you have a real interest in European affairs, preferably with a focus on youth issues;
  • You’re enthusiastic about youth mobility. You may have already attended youth exchanges, volunteered abroad (EVS), experienced a different educational system (Erasmus) or you may just want to make this your first time living and working abroad. What we’re looking for is enthusiasm and an open mind, not necessarily a mobility track record.
  • You have (some) clear understanding of why you want to do an internship, what you expect to learn and how you plan to use your skills in the future;
  • You are interested to support us in both our communications and events work. Your tasks will include:

Communications:

  • Social media management
  • Publication editing and proof reading
  • Website management
  • Sales and customer support
  • Monitoring media and policy developments
  • Provide input on the EYCA institutional communications strategy
  • Internal communications with EYCA member organisations
  • Other tasks as assigned and agreed.

Event Management:

  • Logistical preparation and communication with service providers, i.e. hotels, restaurants, meeting rooms ,etc.;
  • Drafting emails and maintaining communications with participants (usually from across Europe);
  • Attending the events and providing organisational support;
  • Follow-up activities: centralising evaluation forms, reimbursement forms, creating discussion groups, etc.
  • Other tasks as assigned and agreed.

You are focused and highly organised. You pay attention to details and your critical thinking game is strong. We also like common sense so that’s a must.

We’d love to know more about you! If you’re interested to join our team, send us a cover letter (1 page max.) explaining what are your professional goals, what you expect to learn during the internship and how you plan to use this experience further. Please also attach your CV (2 pages max.) and don’t be afraid to show off! Get in touch at [email protected] by 6th October 2018!
