Organization description

TeachSurfing is a social startup founded in 2015 in Berlin, Germany. Our vision is to bridge cultural gaps and enrich education by bringing people together through knowledge-sharing events. The goal is to connect volunteers with host organizations to organize informal educational activities such as workshops. We developed our platform www.teachsurfing.org to serve as a tool to enable both sides to connect, to prepare and to organize quality workshops. Currently, the TeachSurfing online platform has over 2900 users and 240 organizations.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive Communication/PR/Social-Media intern or working student to work with us with varying tasks. Depending on your skills and interests, you would help the team with social media and communication, community management and/or business development. We are a small team dedicated to creating lasting change in the educational world, we are looking for a strong team player who’s motivated to create social impact with their expertise. Your responsibilities and tasks can include but not limited to:

  • International community communication
  • Managing social media channels and activities
  • Writing newsletters • Organizing events: meetups, workshops, etc.
  • Outreach activities to recruit new participants for trainings (TeachSurfers) and new partner organizations (Hosts)
  • Communication with partner organizations (Hosts) and TeachSurfers

Qualifications  

  • Fluent English. German is a plus
  • Team spirit and great communication skills
  • Open to other cultures
  • Experience or studies in the area of the internship
  • Creative writing is a plus
  • Passion for informal education
  • Availability of min 16hours per week

Internship conditions: The starting time is flexible. The internship is not remunerated. The length and working hours of the internship are flexible and a minimum time investment of 2 days (16 hours) per week is required. Interested?
