Description:
We are looking for motivated candidates to become part of the Ethno World team in the JMI (http://jmi.net) head office. Ethno is JMI's program for folk, world and trafitional music, founded in 1990 and present today in more than 20 countries.
The Ethno intern:
- Supports the Ethno World team (Ethno Global Coordinator and Ethno Project Assistant) in all facets of their tasks and responsibilities, with a particular focus on the Ethno to Ethno mobility of musicians (including placement, travel management, monitoring of expenses, gathering and collating required documentation)
- Supports the logistics of Ethno (and, if needed, JMI) events (e.g. trainings, meetings, awards, festivals)
- Produces content and handles Ethno World social media channels and platforms
- Edits short texts, booklets and other communication and promotional material
- Organizes, maintains and improves the Ethno archive and history project
- Is the primary point of contact for Ethno World requests and communicates with national Ethno organizers and partners worldwide
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Cross-cultural awareness and competence
- Strong written and spoken English
- Good technical skills: MS Office / photo editing / internet / social media
- Financial literacy is a plus.
The Ethno intern is a core member of our close-knit Ethno World team. As such, it is essential that you approach the internship with commitment and professionalism, as are a proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative and work independently.

Internship cycles run throughout the year for a minimum commitment of 3 months, ideally for longer.
Full-time internships are preferred but arrangements on a part-time basis may also be considered.
