Hello! We are looking for new members to join our curatorial/artistic collective “mais uno +1” in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. The members will be part or our collective and will be communicating our activities. We are looking to build an international team with a diverse set of skills. Currently we are looking for skilled members in the fields of Graphic Design/Communication, but we are open for your additional propositions. If you are aiming to imagine and create collectively, this space is waiting for you.

Mais uno +1 is a dynamic curatorial, project, and research collective dedicated to harnessing the transformative power of art. Our collective operates with a vision to cultivate incremental relationships and ecosystems between artists, communities, and territories.

The roots of Mais uno +1 trace back to our shared aspiration to:

1. Complement and Create Alternatives: We strive to complement existing contemporary art circuits by forging new, more horizontal, and accessible alternatives. Our approach is centered on collaborative and transdisciplinary relationships.

2. Expand Art Practice: We aim to extend the reach of art practice to territories and groups often overlooked in the cultural scene. By diversifying and enriching the socio-cultural fabric, we actively contribute to mutual support within communities.

3. Reflect on the Active Role of Art: Mais uno +1 sees art practice as a continuous project that shapes new imaginaries and communal dynamics. We foster aggregating, experimental, emancipated, and critical art practices.

We invite you to be part of this dynamic collective, contributing your unique perspective and expertise to our ongoing journey of artistic exploration and community engagement. Until now, in our projects we have collaborated with several local partners such as: LARGO Residências, AMRT Transcultural, Artpool, Fábrica Braço de Prata, Prisma Studios Lisbon, among others.

Our focus areas:

- Curatorship:

  1. Exhibition Organization: Planning and coordinating exhibitions.
  2. Alternative Communal Forms: Exploring diverse exhibition spaces such as public areas, neighborhoods, and online platforms.
  3. Support and Follow-Up: Assisting with exhibition materials, production, texts, documentation, and publication.
  4. Art Sales: Exploring various avenues for selling art, including fairs, exhibitions, and alternative spaces.

- Project:

  1. Ongoing Projects: Treating art as an ongoing project.
  2. Project Support: Providing assistance for art projects.
  3. Artistic Consulting: Developing residency and project networks, collaborating with both national and international entities.

- Research:

  1. Education: Focusing on educational aspects within the art community.
  2. Documentation, Metrics, Indicators, and Publication: Recording and evaluating art-related data, and sharing findings through publications.
  3. Methodology Development and Sharing: Creating and disseminating methodologies, both commercial and non-commercial.
