Additional Information

ExxistenZ / eXXistenZ Experimental Studio and Museum of Perceptive Art eXXistenZ - an experimental studio and a museum of preceptive art will be inaugurated on the 9th of november, rising from the ashes of Ekkisens, an art space which was operated in 2014-2019. eXXistenZ will be a container holding contemporary art exploring the sensory of the future, time travelling, existential research and post-internet-humanity. An experimental studio that will manage a variety of activities and gatherings and an art center for philosophical research. A space for an experience of living art creation. eXXistenX is the brainchild of Freyja Eilíf who directed Ekkisens as an art space in 2014-2019. In Ekkisen's sequel, the space becomes a living platform and a museum at the same time, where part of the space will be utilized to open a variety of exhibitions and private exhibitions, on works by artists working within the framework of a perceptive view of the future. At the same time, the space itself will be subject to change, just like a studio and not a traditional exhibition space in itself. Thus also merging with Freyja's artistic creation, becoming partly oher personal studio and art space but public at the same time, playing with the gray line of the artist space holder for gatherings and art events. Freyja Eilíf graduated from the BA Fine Art program of the Iceland Academy of the Arts and has been actively pursuing her own art career both in Iceland and internationally since then, while also directing Ekkisens 2014-2019. She also holds teachings of ancient shamanic traditions from a year long immersion with a teacher of native american wisdom and is a follower of old norse paganism since childhoof. She is currently a practioner of private healing session and works with her own developed craft. Merging and braiding these worlds, art and animsim, she has built ExxistenZ to serve as a space which will develope a conversation between the both. freyjaeilif.com / ekkisens.com
