Data Engineer Involved in Handling Orders, Excel Data and Reports. Includes Transfer of Data to SQL Databases.

Celignis (www.celignis.com) is a biomass analysis laboratory..

Our particular focus is on providing analyses for sustainable technologies that can reduce the world's dependence on fossil fuels for the production of energy and products.

Much of the work we do focuses on the use of biomass and residual materials.

We have a large number of analysis methods, resulting in the collection of large amounts of data. 

We are looking for an intern that will be responsible for the processing and monitoring of analytical data, undertaking quality checks on those data, and monitoring the progress of our orders (i.e. which analyses are done, which need to be done or repeated) and assigning this work to our lab analysts.

Currently much of our data handling and processing is through Excel. So, the intern will need to have excellent skills in Excel.

Many of the results are then uploaded to SQL tables so that the customer can see them on our website. 

We plan, over time, that much of the activities currently being undertaken via Excel will be transferred to a website-based system. We are looking for the intern to also help in the design and implementation of that new facility, in combination with our head programmer and the person responsible for designing the current Excel sheets.

So, we are looking for someone that also has expertise in SQL and various web technologies (e.g. PHP, Javascript etc.)

A very good command of spoken/written English is preferred.

We will provide extensive training on the existing Excel spreadhseet and order managemement system.

We are looking for someone who, at the end of the internship, can be employed by Celignis for the long-term. This position will have an enhanced salary. This employment will occur if the intern performs excellently during the internship period.
