General information

Duration:

Commitment:
Full-time
Description:

The role is divided equally between teaching English to, and providing childcare for, French children in their homes, as well as having the opportunity to develop your professional experience through working with the MES team. The focus of the internship will be the development of educational materials and resources. Our Brothers and Sisters use our Teaching English to Kids (TEK) pack – it is the foundation of the company, as well as being an evolving resource. When you are not working with our families, you will be carrying out an evaluation of the materials we already have and outlining areas for improvement. Following this, you will then design and create these teaching tools and see your hard work come to life through your own teaching experiences and that of the other Brothers and Sisters.

Another element of the internship is the further definition of our syllabus: you will play an integral role in the training and development programme within MES. By creating a training plan for the materials you have created, you can ensure that all our Brothers and Sisters know how to effectively use the materials you have created to make language learning fun for children.

Having the opportunity to work in a small team allows for your ideas to be more readily listened to and engaged with, making your contributions feel worthwhile from the outset. My English Sister prioritises our interns coming away from their time with us knowing that they have learned invaluable skills, which they will be able to apply throughout their career. Feeling supported and knowing that your wellbeing is important to us is essential and will be prioritised throughout the entire internship programme - from application to signing off. The team provides comprehensive 'Moving to Lyon' support, a 50% reimbursement for travel expenses, social activities to help you meet our Brothers and Sisters, and channels to communicate with the team constantly should you have any questions or queries.
