The Institute of Aurel Stodola (IAS) of the University of Zilina (L.Mikulas, Slovakia) has created a junior research group dedicated to Energy Storage and Renewable Fuels. The activities of the group will be focused on theoretical as well as experimental aspects of the (photo)electrochemical water splitting and renewable fuels. 

Storing solar energy for periods without sunshine is one of the greatest challenges of contemporary science. One of the recent options is to spatially separate hydrogen and oxygen production during water splitting (decoupled electrolysis). In our group, you will gain overview of the electrochemical processes involved and participate at the design, fabrication and characterization of a demonstration lab electrolyzer with opportunity to discuss and realize your own ideas and approaches to partial tasks of the project.

IAS is searching for internship candidates for a 9 months and longer projects. The projects could start as early as relevant candidate would be found. Candidates MUST have received a European placement grant AND be affiliated to a European Institution (University, Polytechnical School…) providing health, accident and liability insurance. We only respond to applicants satisfying the latter criteria.
