We at Sails on Kos, luxury tent resort on Kos island - Greece, operate a small outdoor taverna within our campsite mostly catering to our guests. We are looking for a person ( not essentially a cook / chef) preferably a student from a gastronomy course or anyone who enjoys food preparation, to be trained with the daily replenishing of our menu. It is important to detail that the job with basic training from us is possible even for hobby cooks.  It does involve the preparation of a number of smple dishes , but also the making of basic items like dressings, croutons, chopping veggies, cleaning and portioning , making burgers, souvlaki , tsatziki, etc

As a Kitchen prep intern, you will be given training on each item / dish, until you are confident to do it alone. This suits a person who enjoys cooking. Your  responsibility is for the daily preparation and stocking up for our  lunch / dinner service
The following tasks will be part of your role:  

  • Manage all food preparation in the kitchen 
  • Preparation and presentation of dishes
  • Receiving and storing and ordering provisions.
  • Priorities to ensure timely preparation of all meals
  • Ensure that the correct quantities are prepared to meet daily needs.
  • Assit our cook / griller at lunch times if he is busy and needs a helping hand


  • Currently studying cooking or Interest and basic knowledge of cuisine
  • Good Communication and organizational skills 
  • Able to communicate  English
  • Must be able to work  independently as well as be be part of a team-based environment 

We offer a great working environment a blend of full time staff, interns and volunteers. The training will give you a good insight on the day to day running  a restaurant and basic Greek cooking. The internship is full time work, six days a week 6.5 hours a day. We provide shared tented accommodation, meals and a salary of 600 eu a month The applicant should apply thru Erasmus or similar and be able to either work in the EU or be able to get a shengen visa We prefer full season commitment ( 1st May to 1st November) but will  also accept May to July and August to October
