FRANCE: French school in Brittany is looking for an English-speaking Erasmus assistant from February to may or june

Sainte-Marie primary school is looking for an Erasmus teaching assistant for the 2018 / 2019 school year.

We are a primary school of 9 classes with more than 230 pupils (aged 4 to 11). We are located in Guémené-Penfao (South of Brittany, West of France) near the big cities Nantes and Rennes.

Guémené-Penfao has many amenities such as a cinema and supermarkets and offers plenty of social and cultural activities. The train station connecting Rennes and Paris is 10km away from Guémené-Penfao. Moreover, there is the possibility to take the bus to go to Nantes, where the nearest international airport is located.

Starting date and duration of the internship are flexible. ( begenning february 2019: 4 workdays over 11 weeks of school (except off school holidays) or 3 workdays over 14 weeks of school (except off school holidays))

As a complete part of the staff, the assistant will be fully integrated into our teaching team.

The school is open from 8 :45 to 12 am and from 1:15 to 4:15 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and is closed on Wednesday. The teaching schedule will be discussed with the assistant at the beginning of the internship. They will have the same holidays as the pupils (two weeks in April).

Their responsibilities will be:

- to assist in teaching English to young children (aged 4 to 11);

- to work with teachers on projects (in Arts, PE or on scientific subjects)

- to introduce the culture of their country

- to help children becoming European citizens though projects with other countries such as twinning or exchanges with a school from their country.

- To run English lessons for adults on evenings

The assistant will stay in a pupils' family near the school. We can also supply a bike if need be.
