Description: 

ES César Manrique is a school which holds about 600 students and a staff of 47 teachers. It is located in Arrecife, the capital city of the island. It was founded in 1990. This school offers four years of Compulsory Education (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th of ESO), after which students get the Certificate of Secondary Education and two years of post-Compulsory Education (1st and 2nd of Bachillerato), being the 2nd year of Bachillerato mainly aimed at preparing students for the EBAU exam (an exam they must pass in order to be able to apply for a place at university.

We have already hosted Erasmus+ students and we also have experience in Erasmus+ projects.

We are offering a post as an French language assistant. Our students are 12 to 18 years old. You will be involved in:

1st The French lessons as an assistant teacher. You will be encouraged to develop your own teaching material in collaboration with teachers.

2nd Helping with extracurricular activities in French.

You should:

 - be a person committed to the teaching-learning process (co-teaching and team working).

- show willingness to develop daily work with teenagers.

- be creative, enthusiastic, responsible, full of ideas and energy and communicative

 

You will not be responsible for the teaching, supervision and evaluation of the students and you will always be accompanied in the classroom by the responsible teaching staff you are supporting.

We will contribute to your professional improvement as a teacher of English by giving you the opportunity to work with students  inside and outside the classroom under the supervision of highly experienced teachers. The trainee will develop the skills and competences of a teacher of English as a second language.

 The trainee would gain as much experience as she can in order to master teaching and she can broaden her knowledge by working in a foreign and completely different environment.

The trainee will have a weekly meetings to monitor the achievement of the goals programmed in the syllabus.

The trainee must: - be a Last year French student or aFrench teacher-in-training program. -cooperate in the preparation of lessons and materials. -promote task based teaching and meaningful learning situations. - help students and teachers develop and improve their communication skills in French. - promote possible work/partnerships between students of his/her own country and our school. - share the culture of his/her country, its history, habits, heritage, art and gastronomy with the school community. - use educational technologies. -take part in the curricular and extracurricular school activities developed by the French department. -collaborate with other departments if they are required according to their area of studies or formation, personal skills and interests. Before arriving, the student will be offered advice and assistance in finding accommodation. He/she will be provided with information about the local accommodation market and help to arrange the place that best meets the student’s expectations and needs. The trainee should: Be a person committed to the teaching-learning process (co-teaching and team working). Show willingness to develop daily work with teenagers. Be creative, enthusiastic, responsible, full of ideas and energy. communicative and with a sense of team spirit.
