Front desk internship at youth hostel in Barcelona - available from May 2023

Sleep Green - Certified Eco Youth Hostel is an environmentally-friendly youth hostel in the center of Barcelona near the main square, Plaza Catalunya. It is small, cozy, and equipped with a comunal kitchen, shared bathrooms and dormitories of 4 to 6 beds. The concept of Sleep Green is based on respectful travelling, meaning paying respect to the local community, fellow travellers, the hostel staff, and oneself. The hostel was granted the EU Ecolabel by the European Union for being a responsible business.

From September there are two internship positions available for the front desk position, most suitable to tourism and/or language students. The tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Taking care of reception / front office duties (making check-ins and check-outs, handling payments, handing out information about Barcelona's sightseeing attractions, providing customer service and supporting with travel arrangements, etc.)
• Helping with marketing activities
• Reputation management (optional)
• Light housekeeping (this is a shared responsibility between the team and includes facilitating laundry service and maintaining a general cleanliness at the hostel)

Requirements:

• High level of English and Spanish (at least B2) 
• Positive attitude
• Open-minded personality
• Excellent people skills 
• High motivation
• Minimum availability of 4 months
• Full-time internship (40h/week)
• Enrolment in university course (this internship needs to be a mandatory part of your studies and/or you need to be eligible for the Erasmus+ grant)
