Intern for the Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs

Odunpazarı Municipality in Eskişehir/Türkiye is looking for interns to work within the Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs.

As the Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs, we provide many trainings and workshops on culture and arts in our youth centres and culture and arts centre. These trainings and workshops include diction, copywriting, basic acting, photography, piano training, etc. In addition to these, we also have a glass art centre and a woodwork centre. As the Directorate, we organise the Odunpazarı 3D Youth Festival, which is a member of the International Democracy Festivals Association.

As interns, we ask you to contribute to our directorate with your creativity, knowledge and the education you have received. For example, you are an origami artist and you want to teach this to young people in a certain period of time within the framework of a certain programme, you can give this training in one of our youth centres. Or you think you are really good at graphic design/videography or project management, you can work at Odunpazarı 3D Youth Festival. It all depends on you.

We ask you to send us a letter of intent regarding the internship you want to do in our directorate, and if you are going to give training, we ask you to send us an e-mail with a document showing how your training plan is. The internship is at least 3 months, but the length is up to you. It is an advantage if you speak Turkish. If you want to give a language training, it is obligatory to know Turkish at A2 level. On the other hand, if you want to teach Dutch at beginner level to people who only know English at intermediate level, Turkish may not necessarily be a requirement. As long as you are good at your job, it does not matter whether you have a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree.

Eskisehir is a distinguished city with 3 universities in which about 100 thousand university students live and which has been selected as the most student-friendly city in Türkiye for many years. Eskişehir is 2 and a half hours away from Istanbul and one and a half hours away from Ankara by high speed train. Eskişehir is also 2 and a half hours to Bursa, 6 and a half hours to Izmir and Antalya by bus. In short, Eskişehir is easy to reach and very close to other beautiful cities of Türkiye.
