The internship is equivalent to a master-level laboratory project. The undergoing master candidate or a recently graduated master who takes part in this project is planned to acquire experience on the development of a molecular bioassay for rapid bacteria detection, as well as, design and fabrication of optical sensors, for Selective Detection of Low Microorganism Concentration in Drinking Water. The project is financed by the Hovestaden Regionalt forskningsfond in Norway, which has universities and municipalities as partners.
The candidate shall have a background in Microelectronics, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Micro/nanotechnologies (or similar). The intern will participate in one of the following proposed activities:
- Development and characterization of a molecular Aptamer Bioassay for rapid E.coli detection;
- Design and fabrication of an optofluidic sensor with integrated optics for real-time analysis of the Aptamer Bioassay.
