General information
The student will develop expertise in the cutting edge research field of organic/organometallic chemistry with an emphasis on catalytic processes for selective synthesis of heterocycles of biological or physical significance.
The specific multi-disciplinary training the student will receive at the host institution will therefore include: synthetic organic chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, metal-based catalysis, photochemistry, and target-oriented bioactive heterocycles synthesis featuring those methodologies and catalysts developed within the project. The student will be exposed to structural elucidation of synthesized molecules and characterization techniques on a daily basis (NMR, mass spectrometry, IR, HPLC, XR, TEM).
Duration: 3 to 6 months
