Description:

Our mission is to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals, through rehoming, education, advocacy and other activities. Our Rehoming Centre for dogs and cats is the oldest of its kind on the Maltese Islands. Here we aim to provide an efficient rehoming service where animals are guaranteed the best possible living conditions for a kennel and people can adopt with confidence. Our aim is to build a new purpose built MSPCA Re-Homing Centre to cater for the hundreds of stray and abandoned dogs and cats on the island.

Our rehoming center is always looking for 1 or 2 interns (minimum 5 weeks) to assist our enthusiastic animal care team in their daily routine which include: caring for, cleaning after and feeding our dogs and cats, dog-walking, playing with and training dogs, shadowing adoptions and vet visits. This role is for someone looking to gain experience in a charity or animal setting. We are looking for someone who is reliable, committed and loves animals. Experience working with dogs and cats necessary. Students of an animal care related field considered an asset.

Please note that this position includes a lot of physical activities (cleaning, feeding, dog-walking) and most of the work is outdoors. Please also note that this internship is unpaid.
