Junior Librarian

Hi future Erasmus students,

We are looking for an Erasmus Intern for the academic year 2024-2025. We are a part of the French University Paul-Valéry located in Montpellier, France. Looking for a student keen to work in a library. Quite willing to work as part of a team and participate in the life of the library. To have good interpersonal and communication skills, and to be willing to help students with their academic work.

Main tasks:

• To help students find books. Borrow and return books for students. Supervise the library and the equipment.
• To help students navigate through the online catalogue and use electronic resources.
• Lend a helping hand to the library staff to organize cultural events such as debates, create articles for a press review and movie nights.
• Provide linguistic help or to give advice to students regarding their academic work.

Profile:

We are looking for a native English speaker as we are an English library, all the books are in English and even the students attending the library mostly study English. (It is a preference)

However, it is not detrimental if your English proficiency level is good/advanced and you are a motivated student you should definitively apply :)!

Mandatory criteria:

• Good/advanced French level (beginner is okay, if you can communicate in English)
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Weekly hours: 25 hours
