General information
We are looking for an English language assistant in our high school for one of the following periods:
- one assistant from January to March 2024.
- one assistant from April to June 2024.
The assistant - from one of the European countries - would work with the English teachers and have groups of maximum 15 students in responsability for conversation classes and oral activities.
He/she would also organise an English club during lunchtime to propose all sorts of activities to the students like : drama, board games, music, …
The assistant would also participate in cross curricular work in collaboration with other teachers and other subjects
The intern could also give language lessons to the adults in our school (different levels).
Any other native language is welcome !
We are looking for someone with a passion for teaching, and languages. Candidates should be fluent in English, levels C1/C2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and be comfortable with the French language.
No previous experience of teaching is required, however we are looking for someone who is interested in education, and is used to dealing with teenagers.
A referent will be provided to help settle in the school. If needed, help with administrative issues will be provided too.
The financial compensation will consist of accommodation (hosting in students' families), lunch at school on schooldays, and a buspass for easy access to the town of Nantes, to the Atlantic beaches or any other places around.
Our high school is situated in the city of Aigrefeuille Sur Maine, it's a countryside area but with a quick (20 minutes by bus) and easy access to Nantes which is the nearest town. The 550 students come from different cities around and are aged 11 to 15. They can learn a lot of different subjects here and take parts in many projects and extracurricular activities.
