The Host Company

UK based company that manufactures and distributes alternative health products and medical devices . The company distributes its products to B2B through a network or retailers and to B2C through direct mail, advertising and all media channels.

The Placement

The host company is looking for a candidate for e-commerce support who will undertake the following tasks;

  1. Research, instigate, deploy and test a series of promotional and advertising offers to help increase sales and conversion rates on both the Amazon store and eBay platforms throughout the available international territories
  2. Manage the day to day monitoring of competitors' sales and price point as well as ensuring sufficient stock levels are maintained within those e-commerce platforms and at Amazon's warehouse
  3. Both eBay and Amazon stores are going through a re-design stage and working closely with the e-commerce team, the candidate will play an instrumental part in delivering those new-look stores
  4. Help to maintain targets and budgets for those Amazon and eBay stores and to analyse marketing activities on a regular basis, create reports to provide insight on activities and improvements
  5. Support the e-commerce team in these additional areas: e-mail marketing, on-site conversion optimisation, affiliate marketing, online remarketing, search marketing, social media website content, featuring and copy-writing in addition to using web development skills to help with some of our web build projects.

The ideal student will have a good working knowledge of WordPress, Dreamweaver, Magento in addition to a good standard of IT literacy and a good knowledge of the English language. Must be able to work as part of the team but with enough confidence and ability to perform tasks unsupervised and with a certain degree of personal initiative.

Additional Information

To apply for an ISPO internship in the UK you must hold a valid EU, EEA or Swiss passport. Applicants should be currently enrolled within an educational establishment (university/college) or have achieved postgraduate status. Students participating in an ISPO internship should have an excellent level of spoken and written English, as you will often be expected to act as an intermediary between the host company and the student’s native country. The host companies who take part in ISPO will not pay a salary, hence all students applying to ISPO should enquire about Erasmus+ funding through their Universities. (To support placements abroad). (Consult your internship coordinator for information about Erasmus+ grants, Governmental or any other kind of funding available to you). Please note that without funding you will not be able to take part in an unpaid internship regardless of personal financial circumstances, due to current UK legislation. The host company will pay accommodation costs for the duration of your placement (subjected to a maximum of £370 per month). Basic accommodation costs usually covers rent and utility bills. Services such as telephone and Internet are the student's own responsibility. It is the ISPO student's own responsibility to make travel arrangements and to cover the cost of travelling to and from the UK. Students are also strongly advised to get their own travel insurance to cover their personal belongings whilst on placement in the UK Applicants will ideally be available for a minimum of 5 to 6 months. ISPO does consider applications for shorter term placements, however most host companies and accommodation providers are looking for at least 5 to 6 months commitment. Students must be aged 18 years or over when the application is made.
