Life at Critical Concrete

Critical Concrete is a hands-on, dynamic organisation specialising in researching and implementing sustainable, low-tech alternatives to typical construction methods. Our work stretches from architecture to material design with a heavy focus on education and open sharing of information. Our outputs can be broken into 4 areas:

  • Renovating socially relevant spaces through processes of participatory design, local engagement and sustainable construction. We also offer architectural services including consulatation, design and construction as part of our in-house studio
  • Educating future leaders in sustainable and social design with our post-graduation in Sustainable-Sustainable Architecture. This unique course combines hands-on workshops with interactive online courses exploring topics of natural building, co-design, ecological development and more.
  • Widening access to education on sustainable topics through our online learning hub, critico. We work with experts in sustainable fields who might not typically be able to share their knowledge and experience with a wide audience to unlock their expertise for all.
