Our organization

Working in countries such as Zambia, Iraq, Syria, Georgia, Mongolia and Moldova, we cooperate with Czech development institutions, UN agencies, and different EU programs. In recent years, Caritas’ Humanitarian Aid and Development Cooperation Department has constantly expanded its operations, now reaching even more of the communities that are most in need within these countries.

Description of the internship

Caritas Czech Republic´s International Department is looking for candidates to participate in a 6-months internship in our Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Unit.

The internship will bring the opportunity to get acquainted with the use of digital technologies in the daily management of an NGO with global reach, as well as the most relevant techniques for monitoring and evaluation of development and humanitarian projects. The selected intern will get involved in the actions and systems that allow Caritas Czech Republic to deliver to the communities we serve the right support at the right time in an effective manner.

The selected candidate will work on a regular basis in areas such as:

  • Supporting the management and maintenance of different sources of humanitarian digital data
  • Data analytics and data visualization of Caritas’ operations
  • Support the unit’s efforts in the monitoring of actions performed by Caritas’s country offices related to CCR policies (protection of beneficiaries, environmental safeguards, etc.) and to donor requests (gender and age markers, among others)

 

Candidates should at least meet the following expectations:

  • Studies in a relevant sector for development cooperation and humanitarian aid operations
  • An interest in developing a career in the area of project monitoring and evaluation
  • Willingness to learn new skills and accept new challenges
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Openness to new technologies and their applications to the development and humanitarian sector
