We are looking forward to the coming of Eramus + assistants who will indeed be a great benefit to our entire school. For a start, you will be regarded as an important language ressource by our language teachers. As an assistant, you can make language learning more vital and relevant to our pupils and students and we feel that you can also enable or pupils as well as our staff to become more globally aware and make this experience rewarding for all.

 

We are seeking native speakers of English who will be prepared to join us for a period of 3 months (from January to March).

 

The language assistant we are looking for must :

 Have a good working knowledge of French.(B1)

 Be interested in education

 Be dynamic and be willing to interact with locals.

 

Duties :

Your main tasks will consist in working in the classroom under the supervision of a language teacher, in executing a variety of activities which focus on oral comprehension and expression. You are likely to be responsible for small groups (within the classroom). Interactions with a native speaker should enhance the students' achievement and pleasure in communicating across cultural and linguistic barriers.

- You may also  be called upon to assist teachers during classes of other subjects where you could intervene in English.  

You will be requested to work between 13 and 17 hours a week.

You will get wednesday afternoon and another day off on top of being free at the weekends.

 

School provides :

 accomodation : a one-bedroom appartment located near the High School could be reserved for you for the duration of your stay.

 A bus pass to allow you to make your way in and around Saint-Nazaire will be paid for by the High School.

 A bicyle could be lent to you the whole time of your stay if requested.

Food : free lunches and dinners from the school canteen on week days.

The Lycée Notre-dame is a private state-subsidized Catholic High School , which welcomes pupils aged 15-18 as well as higher education students who embark on two-year degree courses in either Management of Business Units (BTS MCO)/ International Trade (BTS CI) or Accountancy and Management. (BTS CG).

It is located in Saint-Nazaire in the South of Britanny and is part of the Greater North-Western region called Pays de la Loire.

 

Our High School welcomes 795 pupils and students taught by a team of 70 teachers. 170 boarders ,whether they be pupils or students, are accomodated and are provided every week with various cultural, sporting and private tutoring opportunities.

 

Our teaching team is dynamic and commited to welcoming every individual regarless of their background and to promoting an open spirit to the world. Each year, some foreign pupils are successfully integrated into our school. We have already welcome students from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Japan or Norway 

 

Our town, Saint-Nazaire (44600) is located on the Atlantic coast with nice beaches and many cultural activities (cinema, theatre, concert venues...). We are about one hour drive from Nantes and we are on the TGV line (high speed train) to Paris.
