We are looking for one or two marketing interns who are passionate about contributing to a volunteer organisation and working with both our staff and volunteers to build a more peaceful and sustainable world.

• Commitment: 30-100% of full-time
• Duration: 3-12 months

Youth For Understanding Norway (YFU) is a non-profit, volunteer exchange organisation. We offer exchange programmes to youth (15-18 years old) in countries in all parts of the world. We believe that when our exchange students, host families and local communities learn more about each other, different cultures and peoples, we create a more peaceful and sustainable world with a greater appreciation for cultural diversity. As an intern with us you can work full-time or part-time (30-100% position) for a period of 3-12 months, depending on your situation. You would be working in our secretariat, which is responsible for our day-to-day operations. The secretariat consists of three full-time and two part-time employees. Our office is located in central Oslo, Norway, but it’s also possible for our office staff to work from home 1-2 days per week if this fits with the tasks at the time.

Your responsibilities:
• Management of our social media accounts: Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook

• Scheduling and boosting ads, creating content primarily on Canva, gathering material during our events, gathering data on outreach, and analysing results of ads 

• Possibly managing our Google Grant Ads and working with our website (depending on experience) 

• Miscellaneous tasks: assist with bigger events, greet and assist students in travel transit in Oslo area, assisting with administrative tasks.

• Office administration: participate in weekly meetings with colleagues, helping with miscellaneous tasks

Your responsibilities will vary depending on the time of year. Working some evenings from time to time could be required.

We are looking for someone who:
• Is efficient, organised, and responsible
• Is solution-oriented and takes initiative
• Works well in teams, but can also work independently when needed
• Is happy doing some routine tasks, like follow up databases, answering emails, etc.
• Has some knowledge of using Microsoft 365 (especially SharePoint and Teams)
• Has a minimum of level C1 in written and spoken English
• Has a passion for international cultural exchanges and democratic, volunteer organisations
• Preferably has some knowledge of Norwegian or Scandinavian language, but this is not a requirement
