Description: 

Follow developments concerning violations of women's human rights all over the world on many different subjects:   Women in decision making, violence in its different forms (rape, domestic violence, sexual harassment, child marriage,   genital mutilation, honor crimes, femicide, abduction, prostitution etc), trafficking, illiteracy,     gender stereotypes, refugees status, sexual and reproductive health and rights, maternal mortality, displacement   women and peace, women and climate change, women and the economy ( gender pay gap, gender gap in pensions, care work), feminization       Research on issues covered by advocacy activities: signing petitions, writing letters to lobby government officials, politicians etc., participating in campaigns, writing statements to the UN Commission on the Status pf Women (CSW), Ecosoc, UN Human Rights CouncilCommission on Social Development etc.             Research work concerning the President's Newsletter on different Human Right's Issues (Post-2015 Development Agenda, Human Right's Defenders, Femicide, Evaluation of CSW58, 59, 60 sessions etc)            Follow the work of our Representatives at the UN ( NY, Geneva, Vienna) in Specialised agencies (WHO, ILO, FAO, UNESCO)in regionalorganisations ESCAP, Arab League, African Union, Council of Europe, European Women's Lobby and finally in the International Criminal Court, Support initiatives of our Representatives.              

Follow the work of our Commission Conveners, the Heads of Committees, Regional Vice Presidents and Regional Coordinators, Affiliate and Associate Organisations and members of our Board, Support initiatives and respond to their needs.

            Follow the work of UN Special Rapporteurs and independent Experts on violence against women, extreme poverty, trafficking in persons,rights of persons with disability, right to education, right to food, contemporary forms of slavery etc. and ask members of IAW to contribute to their work.                Preparation of the Journal of IAW( International Women's News)            Study the Convention on the rights of the disabled and incorporate in our plans the special needs of disabled women. Follow developmentsconcerning a future Convention on the rights of older people and incorporate in our plans the special needs of older women.         Preparation of the IAW Congresses, Boards, Side Events
