General information

3 months

Our mission is to preserve the authenticity of cities through the power of play. Secret City Trails takes travellers and locals on urban adventures - or city discovery games. During the games you solve a trail of riddles via our web app. Using a web app means no downloads are needed, just a little data. As you solve the riddles you explore a city's hidden gems and unlock stories about the sights and area you are in, as well as (secret) recommendations to wonderful cafes and bars. The trails are a playful, off-the-beaten-track and self-guided way of discovering a city.

About the position

Our operations intern will help us to launch our games on German speaking market! Your tasks will include translating the products into German market, writing German sales documents and helping with the operations of sales.

In addition, you’ll have the freedom to test your ideas and run experiments, in other words, be a true entrepreneur. We work in a fun (we do make games for a living!) and fast-paced (it’s a startup) environment. We're a small team, so you’ll be working directly with the founders and your voice will have an influence and effect on different aspects of our business.

What you’ll do:

  • Translate our products and pages to German

  • Support and execute operations of our sales

  • Execute various paid/organic marketing campaigns; Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads

  • Create content for social media marketing, Facebook & Instagram, and blog posts (in German)

  • Analyse digital marketing campaigns and dig deep in the data to set up new experiments

  • Support business development efforts

  • Have a burning desire to get *shit* done

  • Are a smooth communicator

  • Possess great analytical skills & love data

  • Propose new ideas beyond your daily role; you help us build a great company!

  • Enjoy challenges and an unstructured environment

  • Speak fluent German and English (other languages are a plus!)

Why join?

We're a small team with a lot of space for growth. In 3 months, you can grow way beyond the tasks outlined above. You get out what you put in. We're in a sunny office downtown Lisbon, Rua da Prata, but you can be remote. We are part of a growing and international startup community at Startup Lisboa. We have flexible working hours. This is an unpaid internship (you are free to receive other grants). And obviously, this full time internship comes with free city discovery games! Plus, discount codes for your friends & family.

The process

Apply online by sending your CV and a short motivation letter to [email protected]. Both in English. If we see a fit, we'll invite you for a (video) interview. If successful in the first round, we will ask you to do a short assignment and may follow up with a second interview.
