Job Description: 

We are looking for an Intern in Academic Development for our office in Malta.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Associate Chief Academic Officer in designing and implementing academic courses, programmes and projects

  • Support in preparing and reviewing budget proposals  

  • Effectively facilitate and provide liaison to a wide array of professors, students and educational officials.

  • Support the organization of UCM’s activities (courses, workshops, trainings, conferences, events in Universities, etc.)

  • Assist in Office Management and organisation procedures

  • Perform other office duties as assigned

 

The UCM offers one 6-month to 12-month traineeship in the new office in Malta, that:

  • fully involves the trainee in a young and dynamic international working environment (full-time work, 36 hours per week);

  • gives the chance to the trainee to develop academic programmes and courses, and international projects related to higher education, international mobility, talents attraction and employability;

  • allow them to use part of their working time to learn more about a relevant field (such as project management, project development…)

  • using financial support through Erasmus+ Traineeships is encouraged

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High motivation, willingness to learn and to work with constructive criticism, responsible, proactive attitude

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to work both in a team and independently

  • Strong written and spoken English (additional languages, particularly Italian and/or Maltese, are a plus)

  • Previous experience or a strong, documented interest in UCM’s areas of activity (higher education – economic and social innovation) and training activities

  • Ability to work cross functionally across teams: project management, communication with relevant stakeholders, event organization, marketing, communications, promotion

Essentials:

  • writing and communication skills

  • self starter and problem solving oriented (there is an issue? suggest a solution…)

  • excellent level of English

 

Years of Experience required:  None, but previous experience or a strong, documented interest in UCM’s areas of activity (higher education – economic and social innovation) and training activities will be preferred.
