Description: 

Music Crossroads International (MCI) is a non-profit organization that empowers youth in Africa through music and professional training. Founded in 1995 by Jeunesses Musicales International, MC currently operates in 3 African countries. You will communicate with individuals and organisations from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds.

MCI is looking for a motivated creative young person to gain valuable insight into the field of international development work in arts and culture in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Assisting in the effective management of projects and its activities (project management, planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, etc.);

  2. Contributing to the development of initiatives for future projects (fundraising, grant applications, research of sponsors/grands, etc.);
  3. As well as helping with administrative tasks across the organization with its partners in Africa. 


You should be flexible, a quick learner, and possess the ability to take initiative. You must have proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Adobe
 media editing programmes is a plus.

SEARCHED PROFILE


  1. University degree or equivalent (Bachelor or Master);
  2. Excellent spoken and written English – (Portuguese is a plus);
  3. Good creative writing skills;
  4. Experience with Office Suite;
  5. Previous experience in project management;

WE OFFER

We are offering an internship at our Head Office in Brussels, Belgium.

The candidate will have the opportunity to work hands on with several different aspects of cultural management in stimulating, dynamic and innovative environment in the heart of Europe. By the end of the internship the candidate will have gained a firm understanding of Multi-cultural project management, as well as marketing and communications. Candidates will acquire concrete work experience that will build on their existing skills set, an asset for any future job application.

The internship also offers a chance to gain insight into the field of international development work through arts and culture and to work with individuals from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds.

Working hours:

Full-time: Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 (unless agreed upon a minimum 3 days prior)

Compensation:

  1. Monthly travel card (50 EUR a month)
  2. Food allowance (6 EUR a day)
