Based in central London, Worldwide Events operates market-leading trade events bringing together key players in the hospitality industry. The brand is firmly established at the forefront of the Meeting & Incentive, Luxury and Romantic Travel sectors with 2019 events in locations such as Sibenik, Muscat, Stockholm, Kitzbuhel, Malmo, Las Vegas, Chicago and several other key destinations.

 

Worldwide Events is the events division of Big Worldwide, a global media, technology and travel group whose companies include Creative Media Finance and BIG Agency.

 

Previous interns have found their Worldwide Events experience highly fulfilling, valuable and relevant to future studies and career-plans. Especially those interested in pursuing a future within or involving professional Sales & Marketing.

 

Key Responsibilities: [training provided]

  • Researching the MICE market
  • Building relationships with corporate & agency clients and building a pipeline for Account Managers
  • Identifying and reporting on sales opportunities in target markets
  • Providing administrative support to the Buyer Relations team and management
  • Maintaining database, create reports, assist with marketing functions and be involved in various internal and client-facing aspects of all departmental functions

 

Worldwide Events is looking for:

  • Strong organizational and sales skills with good time-management
  • Results-driven with an emphasis on the ability to close sales
  • Positive, proactive personality that can succeed in a competitive environment
  • Knowledge of international MICE market would be helpful but not essential
  • Excellent IT skills – particularly in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, as well as CRM systems
  • Some experience of sales work is also desirable
  • Friendly & sociable – able to fit into a young, energetic, fast-moving business
  • Fluent spoken & written English essential; strong communication and people skills
  • Additional language skills are useful

Work experience placements are unpaid but we do cover monthly travel costs up to a maximum of £151 per month and provide £25 per week for lunch. Working hours are 09h30-17h30 Monday-Friday (16h on Fridays).
