Role
This is a great opportunity for a keen Computer Scientist who wants to gain practical experience in software development for this world leader in Digital Pathology. Mentored throughout, you will assist the Platform Team in the integration and development of web based products. This internship will be a great addition to your CV and boost to your career prospects, along with the satisfaction of knowing that you will be contributing to medical research.

Tasks
• Work as part of a scrum team developing platform services to architectural specifications
• Build RESTful microservices to support our application portfolio
• Commit to an automated CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Deployment) pipeline with high test coverage requirements
• Rapid prototyping of new ideas
• Contribute and participate in technical discussions
• Assess existing opensource and commercial products and services

Personal Skills
Essential
:
• Background in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of an Object Orientated language (ideally C# or Java)
• Knowledge of cloud oriented architectures
• Experience writing unit tests
• Working in a team environment

Desirable:
• Experience with .Net Core
• Experience with AWS and Cloud Foundry
• Experience with Angular and Typescript
• Knowledge of the agile programming methodology
• Knowledge of continuous integration environments

This innovative Digital Pathology is aimed at reducing the workload of Pathologists by allowing for fast, accurate diagnosis and grading of tumours, so that correct treatments can be put in place as soon as possible. Recently acquired by a world leading electrical giant with a strong focus on healthcare, these are exciting times for the host.
