Role  
This is a great opportunity for a keen Computer Scientist who wants to gain practical experience in software development, in the exciting world of Drones & Robotics. With emphasis on applying deep learning you will be mentored throughout, and will assist the team to solve complex problems including localization-mapping, navigation and object recognition for autonomous robots. This experience is a must for anyone interested in this exciting field and will be a great addition to any CV.

Tasks

  • Assist in designing and training neural network models for various tasks like image recognition, natural language processing, localization and mapping
  • Assist robotic software development using ROS and C++ (real time software on the robot)
  • Robotic system simulation (Unity3D)
  • Maintaining and improving the continuous integration and the deployment process.

Personal Skills

Essential:

  • Computer Science, IT related degree or scientific/numerate degree
  • High proficiency in C++ programming skills
  • Python/numpy/scipcy or MATLAB
  • Comfortable working across a team with people of different skills.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed way.
  • Ability to pick up and evaluate new technologies.
  • Conduct code reviews and inspections.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of ROS, control systems and alike
  • Other branches of AI or machine learning, reinforcement learning, etc.
  • Exposure to electronics, 3D printing, physics and physics simulations
  • GUI programming (Qt, Java, .NET or similar)
