Do you believe that we can change the world?
That the world can be changed by human action?
Utopia 500 project started in 2016 with the Commemoration of the 500 years of the publication of Thomas More’s Utopia. Since then, we have had over 80 trainees from all over the world, from different fields of study, who have helped us spread the notion of utopia.
Right now, we are focused on the issues of sustainability, namely, the need for responsible environmental practices and circular economy and gender and LGBTQI+ issues that need to be seen through the lens of human rights.
As the crisis we are experiencing has many fronts, we need a multidisciplinary team that is willing to tackle these issues.
This is what we usually do: We promote workshops, seminars, cinema sessions and exhibitions addressing the issues mentioned above. We work with high school students, with university students, with young researchers, with research centres, with solidarity institutions and academic institutions.
Do you believe in these issues and think you are up for the challenge?
We need highly motivated trainees who are able to work with some degree of autonomy and able to work in an international environment.
Specifically, the project is in need of contributions from specialists in Education science, Audio-visual techniques and media production, Political sciences and civics, Psychology, Sociology and cultural studies, Journalism and Reporting, Environmental sciences, Earth sciences (Climate Research) and Database and network design and administration.
The projects will benefit from the contribution of several trainees coming from all over Europe and a truly international work environment will be offered, as well as the unique opportunity to participate in a project that will grow in direct proportion to their work. Trainees are welcome to stay from 4 months to 1 year.
