Introduction:

7 Billion Presidents is a fast-growing group of talented, creative, happy, rebellious and independent thinking people. We are on a mission to help avert climate breakdown, by offering society an alternative to capitalism. 

We have come up the concept of Romantic Capitalism, where all profits are invested into clean energy, instead of being paid to shareholders. 

So far, we have created a beer called For Mankind, and we purchased solar panels with the profits made from the sales of the beer. 

We want to grow the movement further, and to do this we need new storytellers to join our team. 

 

Compensation:  The financial compensation is done by the EU. This depends on the country you come from and the country you are going to. Please check this with your university how this is arranged.

 

This internship proposal is meant for this project.

7 Billion Presidents is a growing movement that builds Romantic Capitalistic companies.

 

A Romantic Capitalistic company: 

1.     Has no shareholders. All profits are invested into clean energy. 

2.     A Romantic Capitalistic company can be any kind of company, as long as it commits to the above.

3.     The company must also have a salary ratio of 1:7. This means that the maximum salary does not exceed more than 7 times the lowest salary in the company.

7 Billion Presidents is a very ambitious movement that aims to change the world by storm. Help us build the new!

Lots of things need to be done to help us grow, including things like storytelling, community building, helping to build more Romantic Capitalistic companies and building partnerships with social/purpose driven companies, foundations and NGO’s.

Anyone who would like to have a more in-depth understanding of social entrepreneurship, the start-up world and participating in a dynamic, proactive and young environment are welcome to apply for this internship. 

We want this project to impact and involve as many people as possible. There are many exciting daily tasks and we are open to suggestions for any new directions we could take. We will tailor the internship to you. You will have the opportunity to meet new people and bring new people to the 7 Billion Presidents movement. 

As part of the 7 Billion Presidents’ team you will be responsible for either storytelling, community building, building the existing Romantic Capitalistic companies or reaching out to other companies and organisations to build sustainable relationships. You will do a combination of the above or propose your own passionate project.

Storytelling can be through social media, making videos, guerrilla marketing, street art, event organising, reaching out to new platforms, other events to spread the story, basically anything. 

Community building can be communicating with people through all channels possible, organising an event, workshop, reaching out to awesome artist and other amazing people, festivals, organisations and companies. 

Business development can be building the existing Romantic Capitalistic companies, building partnerships with other companies or building a new Romantic Capitalistic company.

This internship can be tailored to your capabilities, knowledge and interests in the field of visual/graphic design, website design, digital marketing, video making and editing, creating promotional image and video content  - basically anything that will help us spread our story across the Internet and help us grow our community online.

Moreover, you will work with the partners and volunteers to build reputation and co-operations, as well as come up with ways to sustain the initiative. 

You will set your own goals and what you would like to learn and achieve during your time with us. We will match the skills you have with what needs to be done, as well as take into consideration what you like to do and what is easy for you.

 

What we already achieved

·      A growing group of interesting people in the board. A couple are in the top of the sustainability movement in the Netherlands.

·      4000 litres of Socialbeer For Mankind has been brewed and sold. This is the first Romantic Capitalistic company.

·      7 Billion Presidents t-shirt is the second Romantic Capitalistic company.

·      The first 7 solar panels, of the first energy company owned by everyone in the world, have been installed.

·      Articles in various new media. One Dutch video shared more than 100 times and watched over 15,000 times. 

 

English is a must:

The internship will involve English writing, reading and conversation skills. You need to have an excellent command of English to be able to contribute to the work. In general communication with Dutch entrepreneurs can be done in English.  All communication in the office is done in English too, if you feel your level of English needs improvement, please consider this before applying.

Internship duration and working hours:

You can choose the duration that suits you best but with a minimum of two months, as well as your working hours as full-time or part-time as long as you strictly follow the program you set for yourself. Our recommendations are:

Full-time: 8hrs/day - 5 days/week

Part-time: 5hrs/day - 5 days/week

We can always negotiate to decide how long your internship will be and how many hours per day/week work for you. 

If you would like to get a part time job in Amsterdam, this will also be possible. 

Please Note: This internship platform requires us to put a specific number of months for the internship, but other duration options are also possible with a minimum of two months.

Location:

 

The principal work location will be in Amsterdam. 

 

Who do we like to work with:

The 7 Billion Presidents team is comprised of people who are punctual, team oriented, goal driven, proactive, and highly motivated to make the world a better place. We require the same from all our team members, so they can fit in this environment we created.

Your work will be mostly on your own or with other interns so you will have to be very independent, proactive and outgoing and being able to manage your own time in view of the goals to be achieved. We will have team meetings at least once a week where we try to create a strong team feeling and you will be required to fit into that. 
 

An internship at 7 Billion Presidents will enable you to gain experience in the following areas:
Team work, schedules, decision making, project management, event planning, writing skills in various levels, strategic planning, time management, human resource management, multimedia , social media, and more.

More specifically you will gain experience in:

·      Managing, optimizing and developing content for Social Media.

·      Developing and maintaining partnerships and collaborations.

·      Organising and hosting various types of events.

 

You can also improve some other qualities: self-confidence, results-driven attitude, dealing with complex challenges and teamwork. 

Qualifications

- Action-oriented, takes initiative, spontaneous.

- Sociable personality, good at communicating with people and enjoys social activities, bringing people together.

- Previous experience with posting on social media is a plus (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).

- Event Management skills/experience is also a plus.
