We are looking for a student to help us engineer, program and support central components of our tech stack.


A stack cameleon differs from specialized programmers by being exceedingly comfortable with various types of technologies, even those they never encountered. Ongoing learning, pragmatic problem solving and focus on results are typical for them. Chameleons are known for their thriving impact on teams and some even suspect them to play a key role in digital innovation. 


To be successful as a cameleon you need to:

  • have good abstraction skills and be ease with complexity

  • deep dive into various technical topics and be willing to learn whatever is needed next

  • happy to marathon your keyboard when deadlines approach

  • manage your time and prioritize work

  • be a team player and ready to  give up the idea of being the only smart person around

Your tasks - Find your place

  • Help engineering the hardware and software architecture

  • Code new features and improve the existing stack (Android, Ktor, Js, iOS and python) 

  • Technical research & documentation

  • Support on  the system landscape 

  • Customer support and work on customer projects

  • Attend team meetings and relevant workshops


Your profile -  What we are looking for

  • Understand at least two different programming languages.

  • A demo of something you coded to showcase.

  • OO-programming and problem abstraction skills.

  • Understand threading and asynchronous code.

  • Have a positive, proactive and solution oriented attitude.

  • Ability to communicate and to collaborate with various types of stakeholders. 

  • At Formation almost everything is written in Kotlin. If you don't know Kotlin or the JVM yet we will ask you to learn it during the internship. We consider your willingness to learn and the ability to do so fast as important as the skills you might bring in.

We are a Berlin based startup that provides maps as a service (MaaS). Since 2018, we have been providing interactive maps that ease the daily jobs of workers in and around large facilities. Our maps help to digitize and fasten previously manual workflows and prevent long searches for materials, tools or even colleagues. Thanks to our unique approach workers get their job done more easily than ever before - but we are just getting started and there is so much more to come!
