Flamingo Tours & Trips is a brand-new start up based in Malaga Spain, with the mission of building experiences throughout the city with a cultural and social approach. We provide an exciting way to experience the day and nightlife of Malaga by offering a mix of Tours and memorable parties. 

This internship is open for European Students. 

Internship Description: 

Flamingo Tours & Trips is looking for talented fluent spanish speakers for a six-month Tour Leader internship. We offer a unique opportunity to develop several skills and abilities including public speech, sales, group management, reservation management and writing as well as improving your Spanish language level. 

Working Hours and Duration: 

The standard working week will consist of 35 - 40 hours. The usual schedule for day tours will be from 10h30 to 12h30 and for night tours from 22h00 to 02h00. Office work will be made remotely within Malaga (since your presence will be required for the tours). Given the nature of the Tour Guide industry, applicants will be expected to demonstrate a reasonable degree of flexibility in the scheduling of their work.

Your Core Tasks will be: 

Day Tours:  

  • Execute our day tours introducing and sharing with our guests a brief history of Spain and Malaga. 

  • Developing skills of a good tour guide such as handling a group and public speaking.

  • Adding your personal touch on the tours and general scripts (provided by the company) to ensure tours are original. 

  • Maintaining a positive, friendly demeanour at all times.

  • Distribution of promotional and informative materials. 

  • Taking photos of tours and events.

  • Working together with other interns.

  • Completing tours 3 to 4 times a week.
     

Night Tours:

 

  • Administration of reservations and payments upon customers' arrival.

  • Constant communication with the team.

  • Providing entertainment and connecting people from different groups.

  • Maintaining a positive, friendly behaviour at all times.

  • Following all safety guidelines and ensuring that guests remain within designated areas.

  • Recording and reporting any unusual incidents or violation of safety guidelines.

  • Completing 2 to 3 bar tours a week.

 

Office Work:

 

  • Working closely with the management team to develop blog articles according to the content plan. 

  • Writing and posting articles in line with the marketing team. 

  • Handling customer relations and follow up. 

 

Required Skills & Abilities: 

 

  • Excellent communication and writing skills in Spanish (B2 level is compulsory).

  • Knowledge of English (At least level B1).

  • Proactive and professional attitude.

  • Open mind and flexible attitude at work (referring to tasks, timetable, etc).

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent team working skills.

  • Creative and effective problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent skill to assist clients with a calm, courteous, and helpful manner and attitude.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.

  • Willingness to bring your own computer for work.

Compensation:. 

 

  • 400€ Base Salary per month. 

  • Financial Bonuses based on performance related to the day tours, which we will specify during the interview.
