Context 

Up to a 6-month internship, starting at the earliest convenience

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the ground operation engineering team in a fast-paced, global organization within an innovative and unique industry.

Based in Luxembourg (Betzdorf), you will contribute to exchanging the transport stream distribution of the SES backhaul from ASI to IP multicast.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Analyze the current ASI video distribution installation in the SES backhaul
  • Find out the current and required capacities of transport stream routing in backhaul at SES
  • Compile know-how of IP multicast networks and ASI to IP transition
  • Probability to setup IP multicast test platform in the lab (Cisco)
  • Performance test and analyses of transport stream distribution over IP multicast

 

Your profile

  • Education at a University level within technical subjects (Information Technology) or certificate of apprenticeship within service electronics, Computer Science, Software Development or in a relevant technical area; Lack of University education can be replaced by relevant experience
  • Genuine interest in the media/telecommunication business and technical interest in satellites
  • Ability to think practical, work structured and solution oriented, experience with IP networks especially IP multicast and video streaming.
  • Ability to set priorities and dependable in delivering within time frame
  • Computer literate (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access);
  • Able to work with minimum supervision as well as in a collaborative environment
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset.
  • EU nationality or work permit for Luxembourg.
