3 months. 6 countries. 13 cities. 19 games. All travel + accommodation + games covered. Your task? Visual reporting (video and photo) of your adventures, the hidden gems you discover and the riddles you crack. 

In September, you’ll start your journey where we started ours, in Amsterdam. From there, this is the suggested itinerary.

September 2019, Netherlands: Amsterdam & Haarlem. The Hague, Rotterdam & Delft. 
October 2019, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria: Munich, Prague, Bratislava & Vienna. 
November 2019, Portugal: Porto & Braga, Sintra & Lisbon.

You’ll end your discovery adventure at our Headquarters in sunny Lisbon.

As our intern, you will travel to the mentioned cities. Plane, train, bus travel costs are covered. So is the cost for accommodation. You’ll stay in the best and most colourful hostels. Obviously, games are on us. We’ll throw in a daily food budget too!

Responsibilities: 

• Discovery – off the beaten path – is your main task
• Reporting on the hidden gems in each city through photo and video content: you’ll create photo (for our blog) + video (for YT) ‘untourist’ guides to each of the cities you visit. 
• Reporting on the game experience in each city: you’ll shoot short 1-2 minute videos (both live on our IG & edited) about each game that you try + the places you discover along the way
• You engage with our followers on social media who respond to your content

Your profile: 

• You reside in a European country during September-November 2019
• You’re 18 years or older and possess a valid EEA passport/ID
• You speak fluent English
• You’re a digital native who knows how to create wicked video and photography content for social media and YouTube (professional videography/photography experience not necessary) 
• You’re open-minded and flexible
• You’re passionate about travel and full of creative ideas
• You’re as adventurous as Indiana Jones  and Lara Croft combined
• You’re available to travel to the above-mentioned destinations: up to 1 week of travel in Sept, up to 1 week of travel in Oct, up to 1 week of travel in November. For the remaining time, you’re comfortable working from your home location and working on editing your video and photo content

 How to apply:

1. Create your video

Record a (max) 1-minute video in which you introduce yourself and explain to us why you’re the perfect #secretcityintern 
In the same video, please share/show us your favourite hidden gems in the city you’re currently living.

2. Share your video

Upload the video to Instagram and Facebook, tag us @secretcitytrails, use #secretcityintern and #secretcitytrails and email us the link to your video > [email protected] Get as many people as possible to like/engage with your video! Deadline: 15 August.

3. The shortlist!

The 10 best videos (our team will watch all of them) and the ones with good engagement will be shortlisted and uploaded to our YouTube channel. The shortlisted candidates will receive an additional challenge (it’ll involve creativity and social media). Candidates will be notified about this challenges on 22 August and will have 4 days to complete it. 

4. The decision

The top candidate, out of the final 10, will be notified of our decision on 29 August.
