URGENT! R&D Aquaculture Technician Internship - Free accommodation

AquaBioTech Group actively encourages students and post-graduates to undertake training sessions at our company so as to gain valuable practical, applied and hands-on experience. The trainee will gain practical experience learning the techniques of recirculating systems, fish husbandry and understanding of the studies carried out at the facilities. During the internship, the trainee will work on each stage of the fish husbandry techniques applied in the facility and will also monitor fish health and life support systems and parameters. The intern will gain insight into the learning process of the experiments led by ABTG and their designs and sampling requirements as well as into the documentation requirements to fulfil GMP certification.

More specifically during his internship the student will be requested to undertake tasks related to:

• General husbandry
• Fish handling
• Fish feeding, grading, tagging, sampling
• RAS systems monitoring and cleaning
• Biological water quality requirements
• Monitoring systems requirements
• Measuring equipment
• Maintaining parameters
• Experimental design
• Sampling requirements
• Data recording
• Biosecurity
• SOP procedures
• Recording requirements
• Data keeping
• Deviations

Skills and Competences to be acquired

The trainee will have an in-depth experience of experimentation carried out in various fields related to various practical and commercial aspects affecting the aquaculture industry. In addition, he/she will obtain an understanding of the experimental designs and experimental procedures carried out at the facilities, as well as learn about the type of data which has to be recorded and the relevance of these to the final outcome and conclusions obtained from the experiments. Apart from the experimental experience gained, the trainee will learn about Recirculating Aquaculture Systems, the components making up these culture systems and their advantages.
