Web Design / Graphic Design Internship

ABOUT THE POSITION:

You’re a creative, detailed oriented, and fast working designer with both graphic design and web design experience. You will be primarily challenged to both DESIGN and BUILD wordpress based landing pages. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

WEB Design:

• Experience with front-end web builder tools on Webflow, Shopify, or Wordpress like Divi, Elementor, WP-Bakery, Gutenberg, etc or

• Development of dynamic and engaging web functionality 

• Implementation of designs in a staging environment then publishing changes to the production site

• Experience with Figma, Photoshop, or Adobe XD for responsive mockups 

• Hands-on development of products and web page using web builders and at times using HTML5, CSS, and occasionally Javascript

• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

• Thoroughly test your work on multiple browsers and mobile devices

• Rapidly prototype ideas based on wireframes and sketches in order to provide choices

•  Provide objective insights on how to elevate concepts to the next level 

Graphics Design

• Help build corporate visual identity(CVI), Social Media elements, and branded assets 

• Structure your work using existing visual assets keeping with brand colors, spacing, stylization, font, elements, etc. 

• Demonstrate effective communication with fellow team members, clients, and management

• Create visual representations of abstract ideas (metaphorical representations = SHOW don’t tell) 

• Work on blog feature images, blog elements, graphs, social media images, ebooks, infographics, and more

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

• Experience with working on wordpress, website layouts, and can rapidly build visuals out. 

• Diverse portfolio of projects 

• Demonstrate maturity and professionalism with accepting feedback from management and clients. 

• Ability to work independently and solve challenges 

• Ability to take feedback without taking it personally and improve

• Experience creating graphics from scratch using Photoshop/Illustrator/inDesign or similar software

• Experience testing and debugging work on multiple browsers & screen sizes

• Thrive in a fast-paced working environment, owning deadlines and striving for efficiency

• Working knowledge of design principles, typography, user interfaces, mobile pages, and usability

• Familiar with interaction design and information architecture methods and principles

Extra Points for the Following:

• Familiarity with GIT, Jira, Redmine, or similar project management and issue tracking software

• Experience creating custom javascript conversion forms

• Responsive design experience + hand-coded breakpoints

• AMP (accelerated mobile pages) pages and development within bootstrap 

• Knowledge of web analytics and experience implementing and testing tags

• Develop animations, navigation, interactivity, etc., using jQuery or other JavaScript libraries

• API integrations

• Interest in both front-end and back-end work
